BROOKLYN, Mich. – Friday evening, William Byron led Hendrick Motorsports in the single-car qualifying session at Michigan International Speedway.
The driver of the No. 24 Liberty University Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 qualified third, and he was joined in the top five by Alex Bowman, who qualified fourth.
Chase Elliott was next in the final order and will start Sunday’s race in sixth, with Jimmie Johnson rolling off the grid 12th.
It marks the third time this season that three Hendrick Motorsports drivers will start a race inside the top six.
Brad Keselowski captured the pole.
