CONCORD, N.C. – Voting for the 2019 National Motorsports Press Association Most Popular Driver Award presented by Hooters is officially open.

All four Hendrick Motorsports drivers are in the running, including Chase Elliott, the winner of last year’s honor.

Fans can vote for one driver per day from now until Dec. 4 at noon ET, and votes shared on Twitter and/or Facebook count double.

The recipient of this year’s award will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 5, during the NASCAR Cup Series Awards banquet in Nashville, Tennessee. The ceremony will be broadcast on NBCSN, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Since the award’s inception, 20 different drivers have taken home the honor. NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott – Chase’s father – owns the most awards with 16, while former Hendrick Motorsports driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. took home the most consecutive honors with 15 in a row.

"It's so cool that it's stayed between Elliott and Earnhardt for so long," Chase Elliott said at last year’s banquet before joking to Earnhardt, "I am glad though that you quit a year before you broke Dad's record, so that's pretty cool, I'm pretty happy about that. We got it back in the right name."
