CONCORD, N.C. -- The starting lineup for Sunday's DAYTONA 500 is set.
With the conclusion of the Duels on Thursday, Alex Bowman and the No. 88 team will lead all Hendrick Motorsports drivers after he maintained his spot on the outside pole.
It marks the third year in a row Bowman has sat on the front row in the DAYTONA 500.
By winning the second Duel, William Byron will start in the second row at fourth, while teammate Jimmie Johnson will start sixth after he finished second behind Byron in the qualifying race.
Chase Elliott, the only Hendrick Motorsports driver who raced in the first Duel, will roll off the grid at 25th.
βIt was kind of a power in numbers," Elliott said of his performance. "I thought we had a decent thing working there at one point, but it just fell a part there at the end. But our car was plenty good enough to be good on Sunday.β
Byron's first Duel win marks the eighth straight season a Hendricks Motorsports team has earned a Speedweeks victory.
He is the third-youngest driver to win a Duel race. Elliott is the youngest driver to do so from his 2017 win, while former Hendrick Motorsports driver Jeff Gordon is the second-youngest driver to earn a Duel victory (1993).
The DAYTONA 500 is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET this Sunday on FOX, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
