CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The DAYTONA 500 will resume Monday after rain postponed the race.
Drivers were just 20 laps into the 62nd annual "Great American Race" before rain moved over the 2.5-mile superspeedway. After over a two-hour delay, it was decided that the race would restart Monday.
At the time of the suspension, William Byron and the No. 24 team led all Hendrick Motorsports drivers in seventh place, followed by Jimmie Johnson in eighth, Chase Elliott in 14th and Alex Bowman in 16th place.
The race will continue Monday at 4 p.m. ET at Daytona International Speedway on FOX.
