CONCORD, N.C. -- Jimmie Johnson is asking fans to come together to help aid in the relief against COVID-19, or novel coronavirus.

Johnson has teamed up with the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP), which has “launched the CDP COVID-19 Response Fund to support preparedness, containment, response and recovery activities for those affected and for the responders.”

The driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is helping to raise $50,000 by the end of April 4. If donors pledge at least $25, they will be in the running to win a pair of signed race-worn shoes by Johnson.
