CONCORD, N.C. -- Hendrick Motorsports Gaming Club announced it's reuniting two familiar faces for the second season of the eNASCAR Heat Pro League.

During the league draft Wednesday afternoon, Hendrick Motorsports revealed it kept Nick Jobes on the Playstation 4 from last season, then used the third selection of the draft select it's single pick. The organization redrafted Sam Morris, whose expertise comes on the XBox One.

Chad Knaus, the crew chief of the No. 24 team, delivered the exciting news to Morris after he was picked.

"To be completely honest, I was at first taken aback because I was like 'Oh, Chad! What’s going on?'" Morris said of finding out he was drafted again. "It’s nice to have those people, especially guys like him, willing to take their time to do something like that for me, to say the least.  So that’s really exciting. ... "I've kind of missed everybody over there at Hendrick (Motorsports). I haven’t been able to go around there since middle of last year, late last year, so I haven’t really talked to anyone and had built good relationships with a lot of them. This is such a perfect, perfect thing for me."

Jobes said he was thrilled to find out Hendrick Motorsports was drafting Morris again and that he expects them to compete stronger than ever in 2020.

"I’m definitely happy that Sam is back. We worked very well together last year," Jobes said. "He, unfortunately, had some bad luck last year and due to the nature of the rules of the league. (We had to) drop one person. ... I made a push for it and I'm happy that we were able to get him back and we’re going to work together again and get some wins this year."

Some of that bad luck was a glitch in Morris' controller, which he said wasn't syncing correctly with the gaming system. However, all gamers competing this season must have a wheel instead of a standard controller. Morris said he believes that will eliminate many of the issues he had last year.

Morris and Jobes described a string of unfortunate incidences that prohibited them from making the playoffs last year, but they said they are ready to hit the ground running in their sophomore season with the league.

Hendrick Motorsports is one of 14 race teams competing in the eNASCAR Heat Pro League and each race team will field two drivers -- one competing on Xbox One and the other on PlayStation 4.

The new season will feature three segments of four races, plus a wildcard race and the championship race.
