Team Lowe’s Second in Final Busch Practice at Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 13, 2004) – Rookie Kyle Busch managed to find his way around the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway just fine on Friday, posting the second-best time in the final NASCAR Busch Series “Happy Hour” practice. The 18-year-old, who will start 14th in Saturday’s Hershey’s Kisses 300, put 17 laps on his No. 5 Lowe’s Chevrolet, with a best of 189.147 mph (47.582 seconds). NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series regular Kevin Harvick paced the session at 189.426 mph (47.512 seconds) in his No. 21 Chevy. At 185.621 mph (48.486 seconds), Busch was third in the first of two practices on Friday. Ron Hornaday Jr. paced the early session at 185.924 mph. The Hershey’s Kisses 300 will be broadcast live from Daytona by NBC and MRN Radio beginning at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday.
