CONCORD, N.C. -- Two Hendrick Motorsports drivers will be inside the top five when they roll off the grid this Saturday at Richmond Raceway.
Alex Bowman will start in fourth for the second playoff race of the season and William will be one row behind him starting in fifth.
Chase Elliott will begin the race in 12th and Jimmie Johnson will round out the crew with an 18th-place start.
The starting lineup is based on a new metric system put in place on Aug. 6. Points position is weighted at 35%; finishing position from the previous race is for 50%; and the fastest race lap makes up 15%. Byron finished fifth at the Southern 500 and Bowman followed up with a sixth-place result, which helped secure their starting spots in the top five at Richmond.
The second race of the playoffs will be Saturday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
