CONCORD, N.C. -- The Hooters Night Owl is back.

The classic scheme will be on the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE for three races this season. Reigning NASCAR Series champion Chase Elliott will don Hooters orange and black for the inaugural race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s Road Course on Aug. 15 and the night playoff race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sept. 18.

Hooters also will adorn the No. 9 Chevrolet on May 9 at Darlington Raceway for a special throwback race. The retro scheme will be unveiled later in the season for the unique race on Mother's Day.

“We are thrilled to bring back the fan favorite Night Owl paint scheme for two races in the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season,” said Bruce Skala, senior vice president of marketing for Hooters. “Ever since we teamed up with Chase, we have wanted the opportunity to honor an iconic scheme. This year, we will finally be able to make those dreams a reality during the Mother’s Day weekend event at Darlington. We look forward to another successful year with Chase and the entire No. 9 team.”

Hooters and Hendrick Motorsports agreed to a three-year extension in 2018 to be the No. 9's primary sponsor for three races per season. The iconic American restaurant's partnership with Elliott and Hendrick Motorsports dates back to 2017.

“I am really happy that Hooters is bringing the Night Owl scheme back for the 2021 season," Elliott said. "It’s one of my favorite paint schemes and I know the fans love it.”
