CONCORD, N.C. -- Both Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott will participate in some extra curricular dirt racing at the Bristol Dirt Nationals next weekend, which will lead up to the NASCAR Cup Series' dirt race at Bristol Motor Speedway a week later.

Elliott will have primary sponsor Adrenaline Shoc (A_SHOC) on his car while Larson will try to keep his dirt racing streak hot after he won the Chili Bowl Nationals earlier this year.

Elliott and Larson were both busy before the Cup season started competing in different types of racing. Elliott took on the Snowball Derby in December, where he placed third, competed in the Chili Bowl and was part of the No. 31 crew at the Rolex 24 at DAYTONA.

Larson, who competed in dirt races throughout 2020 and won a whopping 46 events, earned his second Chili Bowl title in a row at the end of January. The Bristol Dirt National should serve as a primer for the two drivers when they return to the venue on March 28 for the Bristol dirt race. The event will be the first time Cup cars have run on dirt since 1970.

While the Bristol Dirt Nationals isn't the same as a Cup Series race on concrete, both Larson and Elliott have had success at the short track. Larson has two runner-up results and seven top-10s with 641 laps led in Cup races at Bristol. Elliott has three top-five finishes at the track, five top-10s and has led for 310 laps in his Cup career. Elliott also won the All-Star Race at Bristol last season, his first all-star victory.

Larson and Elliott will head to the Tennessee venue for the late model event on March 19-20. For a full schedule of the weekend's activities, click here.
