CONCORD, N.C. -- Kyle Larson is making sure he gets in as many reps as possible before the NASCAR Cup Series' dirt race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The driver of the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE will run in the Bristol dirt race for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on March 27, just one day before the Cup Series race.

Larson previously won on dirt at Eldora Speedway in the Truck Series in 2016. He ran just three races that year in trucks and finished no lower than fourth place.

Even though the Cup Series' experience with dirt racing is limited, Larson is far from an amateur on dirt tracks. The 28-year-old driver won 46 dirt races in 2020 and became a back-to-back Chili Bowl Nationals champion in January. Larson also is running in the Bristol Dirt Nationals on March 20 to help get reps at the dirt track.

The Bristol dirt race for the Truck Series begins Saturday, March. 27 at 8 p.m. ET on FS1. On March 28 at 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX, the Cup Series field will start their engines at the dirt track.
