CONCORD, N.C. – Hendrick Motorsports drivers will take part in the first race of the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series season on Wednesday, March 24 at virtual Bristol Motor Speedway.
All four Hendrick Motorsports drivers will be strapped in to their iRacing rigs to have some fun while running the online Bristol Dirt event just a few days before drivers head to Bristol for the NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday.
William Byron will return to try and pick up where he left off last season after winning three events. Alex Bowman also is in a prime spot after he was victorious at virtual Talladega last spring.
Coverage of the event begins at 6 p.m. ET on FS1 with the night of virtual racing beginning with practice at 7 p.m. ET and the first of three heats set to start at 8 p.m. ET.
The drivers will qualify for positioning in the qualifying heats at 7:50 p.m. ET, using their two fastest laps to determine position. After each 20-lap heat, the top seven drivers will advance to the main event of 70 laps, set to start at 8:40 p.m. ET.
Cautions will be set manually and drivers will have two car resets to fix damage throughout the race. If the event goes into overtime, the drivers have a maximum of three attempts to finish under a green-white-checkered.
The eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series came to life at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 after the NASCAR Cup Series season was halted for safety measures. The series ran for seven races last season, and Hendrick Motorsports drivers took home four wins out of those seven events.
Be sure to tune in to FS1 this Wednesday, March 24 at 8 p.m. ET to see the Hendrick Motorsports drivers at Bristol Dirt.
