Busch Sets Record Pace in Michigan Practice

BROOKLYN, Mich. (June 13, 2003) – Driving the No. 87 ditech.com Chevrolet, Kyle Busch posted the quickest time in Friday’s ARCA Series pre-qualifying practice at Michigan International Speedway. With a lap of 188.932 mph and 38.109 seconds, Busch was nearly 4 mph faster that Jason Jarrett’s track record of 185.000 mph set in 2001 and more than 2 mph faster than second-place Casey Mears. ARCA Series time trials are scheduled for Friday at 1:10 p.m. ET. Busch will be the 16th of 50 qualifiers on the grid.
