Rain Cancels ARCA Qualifying at LMS

CONCORD, N.C. (May 21, 2003) – Kyle Busch will have to work a little harder to win his third consecutive ARCA Series event. Rain washed out qualifying for the ARCA Series at Lowe’s Motor Speedway on Wednesday, forcing the starting lineup to be set based upon owner’s points. Because the No. 87 ditech.com team has only competed in two ARCA Series events out of seven so far this year, Busch will have to start 29th. Despite only running seven laps in practice Wednesday morning before engine problems, the ditech.com team still was able to put together the fourth-fastest lap. The team was forced to change engines and was not able to get more track time due to weather. Rain also forced the cancellation of final practice for the ARCA Series.
