USA Today Goes Racing with Joe Nemechek

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 3, 2003) – For the second consecutive year, Joe Nemechek will be posting an online diary for USAToday.com, covering the No. 25 UAW-Delphi driver’s views on past races and other timely topics. This season, Nemechek began the column during “Speed Weeks” at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. He covered both the Gatorade 125s and the Daytona 500. “Front Row Joe” goes into detail in each of his columns about the No. 25 UAW-Delphi Chevrolet’s performance in practice, qualifying and especially the race. In his most recent entry, Nemechek discusses the team’s unfortunate ending to a caution-filled event at Texas Motor Speedway. However, the Lakeland, Fla., native still remains within 61 championship points of a spot in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series top 10. Nemechek is one of three Hendrick drivers who are currently in the top 20 in total points, with Jimmie Johnson fifth and Jeff Gordon sixth. Be sure to check out next week’s column as Nemechek heads to Martinsville (Va.) Speedway and tries to put the No. 25 UAW-Delphi team into Victory Lane. Nemechek will continue to post a weekly column throughout the entire 2003 Winston Cup season. View it at www.usatoday.com and click “Nemechek on NASCAR.”
