Stars Tee Off at Hendrick Children’s Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 17, 2002) -- On Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, the Hendrick Children’s Classic golf tournament will tee off for the eighth consecutive year, raising much-needed funds for the more than 60 boys and girls at Nazareth Children’s Home in Rockwell, N.C. Founded in 1903, the Nazareth Children’s Home provides a stable Christian environment for children, ages five through 21, who have been severely abused, abandoned or neglected. John Hendrick, president of Hendrick Motorsports, currently serves on the home`s board of directors as chairman. The tournament, in its eighth year at Sapona Country Club in Lexington, N.C., raised more than $140,000 in 2001 through donations and a live auction.
