Sprague Sets Sights on Milwaukee Mile

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 24, 2002) -- After a well-deserved weekend off with his family, Jack Sprague and Team NetZero will return to action in the GNC Live Well 250 NASCAR Busch Series event at The Milwaukee Mile this Saturday in West Allis, Wis. "I`m ready to get back to racing, especially since we didn`t have the best finish a few weeks ago," said Sprague, who crashed early and eventually finished 16th in the most recent Busch Series event at Kentucky Speedway. "Our schedule is so busy, but when your last race isn`t a great one, you`re ready to get back in the car and I`m definitely ready and what better place for me to go than a short track.” Sunday's race will mark Sprague's eighth visit to the Badger State, but only his second in a Busch Series car -- his previous event being the 1993 Havoline 250 where he started sixth only to have mechanical gremlins produce a 32nd-place finish. Sprague has shined in seven NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races at The Milwaukee Mile, qualifying in the top 10 for each, including a trio of Bud Pole awards for being the top qualifier. A three-time truck series champion, he also boasts a truck win at the one-mile oval -- the 1996 Sears Auto Center 200. “Milwaukee is a great little facility," said Sprague. "I've never had a bad start or finish there, at least in the truck series we were always pretty close to a win. “I don't know how we'll be in a Busch car, but I doubt we'll be too bad considering how things have been getting better and better every week. I'd really like to pull off a good finish and gain some points. “What's great about my team is that no matter what happened during the last race, whether it was something major or something small, they always get to the next race with clean heads and pumped up to do a great job. We'll need to have good stops and maintain track position if we're looking to be around at the end." The GNC Live Well 250 NASCAR Busch Series race at The Milwaukee Mile will take the green flag on Sunday, June 30 at 1:30 p.m. EDT. The event will be the 17th of 34 Busch Series races this season and will be broadcast live on the FX television network and MRN Radio affiliates.
