CONCORD, N.C. - The annual NASCAR All-Star Race weekend moves to North Wilkesboro Speedway for the sport's 75th anniversary season. Hendrick Motorsports won the last two points-paying races at the North Carolina track in 1996 with team vice chairman Jeff Gordon earning the last victory to date at the .625-mile facility.
North Wilkesboro is the fifth track to host the all-star festivities. Charlotte Motor Speedway hosted the first all-star event in 1985 before Atlanta Motor Speedway served as the host in 1986. The race moved back to Charlotte from 1987 to 2019. Bristol Motor Speedway served as the host in 2020 and Texas Motor Speedway was the site the past two seasons. The winner takes home a cool $1,000,000 payout.
