CONCORD, N.C. - Hendrick Motorsports will head westward to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the opening race of the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. 

The organization and driver William Byron earned the victory in the spring race as part of a one-two-three finish for the team. Byron's win marked the eighth triumph at the Nevada track for the Rick Hendrick-owned organization. Three of the team's current drivers (Kyle Larson, Alex Bowman and Byron) have won at the track in the Cup Series.

Byron and Larson are in the driver playoffs, while the Nos. 5, 9 and 24 teams are in the hunt for the owner championship.

Larson will have the HendrickCars.com paint scheme on the No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. His first win with the organization came at Las Vegas in 2021 and he has three top-two finishes in his last five starts there. All of Larson's victories this season have come with HendrickCars.com as the primary partner. 

Chase Elliott's No. 9 Chevy will feature the colorful LLumar paint scheme for their fourth and final primary race of the season. With LLumar on the car this year, he has two top-five finishes, three top-10s and an average finish of 4.66. In 12 starts at Las Vegas, Elliott has three top-five finishes and five top-10s.

Byron will debut a new-looking No. 24 Relay Payments Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, which is the fintech company's second and final primary race of the season. This scheme features a white base along with green numbering. On 1.5-mile tracks this year, the 25-year-old driver has two wins (Las Vegas and the playoff race at Texas Motor Speedway) and an average finish of 4.40.

Bowman's No. 48 Ally Chevy carries the white-based "day" scheme for this weekend's race. In his last two starts at Las Vegas, the 30-year-old driver has finished first (in the spring 2022 race) and third (in the spring 2023 race). On 1.5-mile tracks this year, Bowman has an average finish of 9.25.
