LONG POND, Pa. – William Byron led a strong Hendrick Motorsports qualifying effort at Pocono Raceway, where all four teams will start in the top 12.

With a lap of 169.661 mph, Byron put his No. 24 Raptor High Heat Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 on the outside pole position for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race. It will be his third front-row start of the 2024 season and his fourth overall at Pocono.

Byron was followed in Saturday's qualifying session by Hendrick Motorsports teammates Alex Bowman in sixth, Chase Elliott in 11th and Kyle Larson in 12th. Ty Gibbs will start from the pole.

In Saturday’s lone Cup Series practice at Pocono, Hendrick Motorsports also had a solid showing with all four cars in the top 15. Byron was second with Larson eighth, Elliott 11th and Bowman 15th.

Historically, Pocono is one of Hendrick Motorsports’ best racetracks. The team has a record 19 Cup-level wins at the 2.5-mile “Tricky Triangle” and holds the all-time best marks there for top-five finishes (76), top-10s (137) and laps led (3,456).

All the NASCAR Cup Series action from Pocono Raceway will air live on the USA Network beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday. The radio broadcast can be heard on MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
