CONCORD, N.C. - Like the rest of the drivers in the Hendrick Motorsports stable, for the most part, the 10 races that comprise the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs align pretty well with William Byron's strengths.
That certainly includes Atlanta Motor Speedway, which will serve as the site for Sunday's postseason opener, where Byron has won twice. His 11 wins in the Next-Gen era ties him with Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kyle Larson for the most.
Yet, while Larson and fellow Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott each already have a title, Byron is still searching for his. That after making the Championship Four last season, finishing third.
"We had really good speed at Phoenix (Raceway)," Byron recalled of last year's postseason run. "I just want to get back to that point, be able to capitalize on it and learn a couple of things here and there and hopefully have a shot to win."
Byron has won at Phoenix before, one of six playoff tracks in which he's already visited victory lane.
