CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gloomy conditions couldn't dampen the spirit on display at Carmel Country Club on Monday.

The Hendrick Family Foundation's annual Learn Live Hope Golf Classic was held with 232 golfers braving the elements on a windy, rainy day in Charlotte. Monday marked the 22nd iteration of the event, which has been held annually since 2004.

A total of $1.5 million was raised this year, adding to a total that now reaches over $21,000,000 since the golf tournament was established in 2003. The Hendrick Family Foundation supports several organizations including Be The Match, Second Harvest Food Bank, the Boys and Girls Club and many others.

Rick Hendrick, CEO and founder of Hendrick Motorsports, spoke at the event.

“I want to thank everyone for being here, this is such a great cause,” Hendrick said.

Among those participating were Hendrick Motorsports drivers Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson and William Byron. Also in attendance was fellow NASCAR Cup Series competitor Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

The not-for-profit Hendrick Family Foundation was established by Rick and Linda Hendrick in 2015. The organization consolidated the philanthropic efforts of the Hendrick family and absorbed its predecessor, the Hendrick Marrow Program. The Learn Live Hope Golf Classic is the foundation’s signature annual fundraising event.
