CONCORD, N.C. - This weekend, Homestead-Miami Speedway will play host to the NASCAR Cup Series as the tour heads to the second 1.5-mile track in a two week span.
Only two races separate the drivers in the Round of 8 from the season finale at Phoenix Raceway.

Larson, No. 5 team
While he's only found victory lane once at Homestead, Larson's 625 laps led are the most of any active driver by a long shot. The driver of the No. 5 entry has also led the most laps in four of the last eight races at Miami. After overcoming adversity in Las Vegas, Larson sits 35 points above the cutline. Heading into one of his favorite tracks, Larson will aim to extend this lead or return to victory lane to secure his spot in the Championship 4.
Elliott, No. 9 team
Although Elliott may not have the laps led of Larson at Miami, but the Dawsonville, Georgia, native's average finish of 10.38 is the second-best among active Cup Series drivers and the best of the Hendrick Motorsports camp. Currently sitting 53 markers below the cutline, Elliott could theoretically make it to the next round on points if he were to finish well in the opening stages of the next two races and score solid finishes. However, expect the No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts team to go big for a win this weekend and set their sights on another championship run.
Byron, No. 24 team
Sunday will mark Byron's 250th start in the Cup Series and it might just be coming at the perfect time. This season he's scored a Cup Series-best 238 points on 1.5-mile tracks. He also leads the remaining playoff drivers in stage points earned (67) at mile-and-a-half venues. Byron heads to Florida sitting 27 markers above the cutline. However, as the closest driver to elimination, any victory from one of the four below Byron would move the No. 24 team to the wrong side of the elimination point. He'll aim to take charge of the circuit this Sunday and return to victory lane for his fourth win of the year.
Bowman, No. 48 team
The driver of the No. 48 Ally Racing Chevrolet currently holds a four-race top-10 streak on 1.5-mile tracks. His eight top-10 results also tie him for the most of his career. Ironically, he's also collected 16 top-10 finishes, which ties his current best mark in the category as well. Although Bowman may not be a part of the playoffs, his spectacular run of form this postseason can still set him up for a solid finish in the driver's championship. He'll look to continue his hot streak on Sunday.
Hendrick Motorsports
For the first time, three Hendrick Motorsports entries have made it to the Round of 8 in a single season. It's also the fourth straight season the team has won at least 10 races. As for this weekend, Rick Hendrick's team has collected five of the last 16 events contested in Florida. This includes winning two of the last three races at Homestead while leading 463 of 801 laps.
