CONCORD, N.C. - A pair of Hendrick Motorsports drivers will compete in the Chili Bowl next week, the biggest event in midget racing, held annually in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
By now, Kyle Larson is a seasoned veteran of the event and is also a two-time winner. He made his first start at 15 years old in 2008 and after missing the 2023 Chili Bowl, returned last year and will make yet another run this year. Larson, who claimed the event championship in 2020 and 2021, will compete in the No. 1K entry. He will seek his 11th appearance in the event's A-Main feature.
Larson won't be alone in the Hendrick Motorsports stable.
Newly signed Corey Day, who is set to make starts in the ARCA, Craftsman Truck and Xfinity Series this year for Hendrick Motorsports, will also return to the Chili Bowl this week. Day, a 19-year-old native of Clovis, California, won a preliminary race in the event last year before coming home third in the A-Main. He will pilot the No. 41 entry.
Practices for the 2025 Chili Bowl begin on Sunday, Jan. 12 with qualifying races set every day leading up to the main events on Saturday, Jan. 18. FloRacing will broadcast the entire week. Larson is set to participate in Monday's qualifying races with Day on the schedule for Wednesday.
On each qualifying night, there is a combination of heat races, qualifying races and A-B-C Mains. A driver must finish in the top two in the Preliminary A Main to advance to Saturday’s featured event. For event rules, click here.
