CONCORD, N.C. - In the DAYTONA 500 and at superspeedways in general, chaos can and often does rule supreme.
So, when it comes to looking at statistics and averages, sometimes they aren't as accurate a representation of speed as they are at other tracks.
But for what it's worth, as usual, Hendrick Motorsports ranks at or near the top of most major categories when it comes to the Great American Race and Daytona International Speedway in general. The 14-time, NASCAR Cup Series champion organization is tied for the most DAYTONA 500 wins of all time after William Byron's triumph last year and its 16 victories at the 2.5-mile tri-oval are also tied for the most.
As for the organization's current lineup of drivers, Byron's first crown jewel win marked his second victory at Daytona. All four drivers have a pole at Daytona as well and nobody has been better at qualifying in the DAYTONA 500 than Alex Bowman, who has three pole awards and an average start of 5.6 in eight starts.
