DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - NASCAR moved the start time of the 67th DAYTONA 500 up an hour to 1:30 p.m. ahead of Sunday's race.

If current weather reports hold true, it may not matter. At least for awhile.

The most recent forecasts predict thunderstorms around 3 p.m. with the percentages of precipitation well over 70% for a two-hour window. This after the 2024 DAYTONA 500 was moved into Monday because of torrential rains all weekend long.

The good news for Sunday? The evening looks much more promising with rain percentages falling into single digits for the rest of the night after the 5 o'clock hour.
