CONCORD, N.C. - By now, it's been well publicized that Sunday's victory in the DAYTONA 500 by William Byron gave Hendrick Motorsports its 10th in the Great American Race, moving it out of a tie with Petty Enterprises and in sole possession of first for the most all time.
And really, by most measurements, that was the final piece of the puzzle.
Prior to Sunday, the DAYTONA 500 was the only crown jewel race in which Hendrick Motorsports wasn't in sole possession of the most victories. Now, to go along with the Coca-Cola 600, Southern 500 and Brickyard 400, the organization is the standard bearer in all of the NASCAR Cup Series' most prestigious races.
The company also owns the all-time lead in wins (313) and championships (14).
