AUSTIN, Texas - After a couple opening weeks at drafting tracks, NASCAR will throw the Cup Series a curve today.
Curves of both the left and right variety, that is.
Welcome to the Circuit of The Americas, a 2.3-mile, twisting, turning road course in Austin, Texas. And though the track has been shortened and reconfigured from the circuit the event was held on over its first four years of existence, there's every reason to believe Hendrick Motorsports will be a major player on Sunday afternoon.
The organization has accounted for half of the wins at the track with Chase Elliott winning in 2021 and William Byron entering Sunday afternoon as the defending champion. Elliott also led Hendrick Motorsports in Saturday's qualifying session and will roll off in third place.
