CONCORD, N.C. - Over the course of the next couple of weeks, a bevy of parts and equipment will be up for grabs in the Hendrick Motorsports Surplus Auction, which starts on Monday. This will mark the second online auction for the organization, run by Iron Horse Auction Company.
While the selection is massive and varied, there’s only one item you can sit in and drive, just like Mark Martin twice did.
And that’s just the start of what makes this particular piece, special.

One of the most notable items in the inventory is a special car with a storied past. Sporting a chassis built in 2009 and raced at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway by Mark Martin, the car was then used to build the first GM prototype for the 2013 NASCAR changeover to the Chevrolet SS body style. It was then repurposed again in 2019 as the very first prototype for the Hendrick Performance Track Attack program.

After track testing and demonstration runs, it was used in many of the original Track Attack advertisements in both photographs and social media videos. It has a carbureted R07 that was rebuilt by Hendrick Motorsports in 2023.
The car was then tested once and put in storage. It has approximately 760 horsepower at the crankshaft, and an Andrews A-431 Cup-Spec four speed with a nine-inch locker. It runs a lighted SPEK-PRO gauge package and utilizes a Hendrick Carbon fiber seat.
