CONCORD, N.C. - Of any track on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule, one would be hard pressed to find one with more meaning to Hendrick Motorsports than Martinsville Speedway.
It's where the organization won its first race in 1984. And there were plenty more that followed.
A total of 29 victories at the half-mile paperclip, in fact, with each of the organization's current drivers having won at least once there. That includes a victory by William Byron in this event last spring on the company's 40th anniversary celebration, accounting for one of the most unforgettable victories in Hendrick Motorsports history.
While the company's 29 triumphs lead all of NASCAR, it's just one of several bars Hendrick Motorsports has set at Martinsville. It also is the all-time leader in poles (20), top-five finishes (95), top-10 finishes (153) and laps led, at a whopping 11,103.
