TALLADEGA, Ala. - Yet another top 10 finish for each Hendrick Motorsports driver did nothing to hurt their already fantastic standing in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings.
William Byron, who finished third at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, held on to the top spot for another week and is 32 points clear of teammate Kyle Larson, who used a runner-up showing Sunday to move up to the second spot.
Chase Elliott rolled home fifth at Talladega and is now fourth in the points standings while Alex Bowman finished seventh on Sunday and improved to ninth in points.
The Cup Series will run at Texas Motor Speedway next Sunday where Elliott is the defending race winner.
