CONCORD, N.C. -- Saturday night, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to Bristol (Tennessee) Motor Speedway.
Hendrick Motorsports has taken home victories on 10 previous occasions at the track, including in 2013 thanks to Kasey Kahne.
Below is a look at what all four Hendrick Motorsports drivers had to say heading into this weekend's night race.
KASEY KAHNE, NO. 5 GREAT CLIPS CHEVROLET SS
ON BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY: "Really excited to go to Bristol. Every time we race at Bristol, I look forward to it. We ran really well there for a while now. We're going back to a tire that we ran on in 2013 that seemed to really suit us pretty well. Didn't like the tire we had early in the year there near as much -- the falloff and things were much different than what it had been. Excited about what we've got this weekend and really looking forward to it. It's a track we can run at and definitely can run up front at."
JEFF GORDON, NO. 24 DRIVE TO END HUNGER CHEVROLET SS
ON MOMENTUM AND RACING BRISTOL: “(No. 24 crew chief) Alan (Gustafson) and the crew are giving me great cars each week. It’s a lot of fun going to the track right now, and this week is no exception. I love racing at Bristol and we’re really looking forward to this Saturday night’s race.
“Bristol provides the teams with a lot of challenges, but I love the input a driver can give to help influence the setup. It’s a track that most drivers seem to enjoy racing at. It’s a track the fans love, as well.”
JIMMIE JOHNSON, NO. 48 LOWE’S CHEVROLET SS
ON THE PAINT SCHEME RETURN: “I’m not a superstitious person, but, just in case there is something to it, I asked Lowe’s if we could go back to the blue scheme. I don’t know what it was about the white car, but I have had some terrible luck as of late, and we needed to change things up. Lowe’s is, as always, a phenomenal partner to our team and to me personally, and they agreed right away. So we are changing up the paint scheme mid-year and hope this has something to do with our fortune. Fingers crossed – but really thankful to Lowe’s.”
DALE EARNHARDT JR., NO. 88 DIET MOUNTAIN DEW CHEVROLET SS
ON BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY: “Bristol is a fun racetrack. I love racing on the short tracks. We don’t get to do a whole lot of it throughout the year so I’m really hoping to just be able to make all the laps. If you are out there making all the laps, you’re going to be enjoying yourself because you can’t run around Bristol without having fun.”
