CONCORD, N.C. -- When Dale Earnhardt Jr. hits the track Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, he'll do so in a car that has seen its fair share of success.
The No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet SS paint scheme will look familiar, but so will the chassis underneath.
Chassis No. 88-810 just so happens to be the one that Earnhardt piloted to Victory Lane in both Pocono Raceway events in 2014.
He also raced the chassis at Kansas Speedway in October 2014 during the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and was leading the race before hard contact with the wall took him out of contention.
In all, Earnhardt led 70 laps driving the chassis in 2014, and it's back for another round in 2015.
The driver of the No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet SS will look to bring back some of that success to build on his two third-place finishes to start the season.
