WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Monday was an eventful day for Jeff Gordon.

After spending the weekend exploring Washington, D.C., with his family for the first time, he visited the White House for a special event.

His children were set to take part in the 137th annual White House Easter Egg Roll. Meanwhile, he appeared on a special edition of LIVE with Kelly and Michael at the White House.

On the show, he participated in the #GimmeFive challenge, part of first lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move initiative. The idea is for participants to share five things they are doing to lead a healthier life.

Gordon was challenged to complete five push-ups by comedian Howie Mandel -- and the driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet SS obliged. He then challenged Hendrick Motorsports teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. to #GimmeFive as well.

Gordon joked that his official job for the day was to make sure his children had fun during the Easter Egg Roll, and from social media posts, it certainly appeared that they did.

More than 35,000 people gathered on the South Lawn of the White House to join in the celebrations, which featured fitness zones, cooking demonstrations, live music and storytelling.

The Gordon family adventure was the latest in a string of off-weekend activities shared by the Hendrick Motorsports drivers. After a "hoppy" Easter weekend without racing, it's now back to work with all eyes on Texas Motor Speedway.
