CONCORD, N.C. -- When we followed Dale Earnhardt Jr. around for a day in the life of the No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet SS driver, he kicked off his morning by recording a few messages for a unique experience.
It involved a charity -- particularly Nationwide Children's Hospital -- and a VIP experience for fans.
"I think they've got a great opportunity to have a lot of fun, should they win," Earnhardt said. "And it also goes to a great cause with the Nationwide Children's Hospital, which we had a little time to go visit."
Wednesday afternoon, the details of that experience were revealed.
Through Omaze.com, the Dale Jr. Foundation and Nationwide have partnered to offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride shotgun with Earnhardt for three laps at 160-plus miles per hour around Charlotte Motor Speedway.
In addition, the winner can bring a friend to watch the NASCAR XFINITY and Sprint Cup Series races at Charlotte in October, meeting Earnhardt in the process.
The winner will also take a picture with Earnhardt and get a signed pair of his gloves along with a DVD of the ride-along.
All it takes is a $10 donation -- benefiting Nationwide Children's Hospital, which Earnhardt visited last month -- to be entered to win the VIP experience. Increased levels of donations offer more chances to win while unlocking exclusive rewards like an exclusive T-shirt, autographed memorabilia and even a private tour of JR Motorsports.
