Hendrick drivers on hand at Chevy Stage in Indianapolis

DETROIT (July 19, 2010) -- Race fans visiting Indianapolis Motor Speedway next weekend for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Brickyard 400 also will have the opportunity to experience the all-new Team Chevy Racing Display and participate in autograph and question-and-answer sessions with the sport’s biggest stars, check out show cars and test drive 2010 Chevrolet vehicles. Jeff Gordon, driver of the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet, will be available on the Chevy Stage for a question-and-answer session on Friday at 12:15 p.m. ET. On Sunday, Dale Earnhardt Jr., driver of the No. 88 AMP Energy/National Guard Chevrolet, will hold his Q&A session at 10 a.m. Jimmie Johnson, four-time defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion and driver of the No. 48 Lowe's Chevrolet, will follow Earnhardt at 10:30 a.m. Visit Indianapolis Motor Speedway's website. for the full schedule. The Team Chevy Racing Display will be located adjacent to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum, located inside the track, and will be open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday. “We’re looking forward to bringing the all-new Team Chevy Racing Display back to Indianapolis Motor Speedway,” said Jeff Chew, Marketing Manager-NASCAR, Chevy Racing. “The fans were extremely receptive when we visited during the Indianapolis 500, and we look forward to returning to the famed Brickyard, where fans will be able to get autographs from the favorite drivers, learn about the newest Chevrolet products and drive those very same vehicles. And, you can visit the new Team Chevy Winner’s Circle Photo Trailer, where you can get a framed picture with your favorite Chevrolet driver, or spend some time testing their skills on one of our racing simulator games. It’s going to be a great time.” At the display, fans can learn about several of Chevrolet’s 2010 models from product specialists, receive a Team Chevy t-shirt, and have a Winner’s Circle “green-screen” photo taken at the Team Chevy Winner’s Circle Photo Trailer. These also will be a Kid Zone, featuring games and prizes. The weekend’s festivities begin on Friday with Chevy Day at The Brickyard. A number of drivers will sign autographs and/or participate in question-and-answer sessions at the Team Chevy Racing Display. Fans also can drive 2010 Chevrolet vehicles – Malibu, Equinox, Traverse, Silverado, Tahoe, Camaro and Corvette – and receive a Camaro t-shirt at the Team Chevy Test Drive, located next to the Team Chevy Racing Display. Test drives will take place from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday and 7 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday. Fans can pre-register at www.teamchevytestdrive.com. Additionally, Chevrolet is supporting Cell Phones for Soldiers by providing drop-box locations within the display where fans can drop off their gently used phones. The first 100 fans donating gently used cell phones will receive a hat, courtesy of the GM Military Discount program. Cell Phones for Soldiers raises money through the collection of gently used cell phones, and has provided since 2004 more than 1 million pre-paid calling cards and 60 million minutes of calling time to soldiers overseas.
