CONCORD, N.C. -- Jimmie Johnson was plenty busy at Talladega Superspeedway.

After earning a top-five starting position for the race, he joined Tour de France analyst Christian Vande Velde and a group of cyclists for a 62-mile ride they affectionately dubbed Le Tour de Bama.

The ride took just over three-and-a-half hours, and apparently it was a good-luck charm -- Johnson went on to earn a runner-up finish in Sunday's race, just behind teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr., who took home the victory.
