DOVER, Del. -- Dover International Speedway made a rainy Friday afternoon a special one for Jeff Gordon and his teammates.
At the start of Gordon's media availability, the track surprised him with 90 "Miles the Monster" trophies -- miniature versions of the one awarded in Victory Lane.
The 90 trophies were engraved with the names of every member of Gordon's team, including all of his teammates in the Nos. 5 and 24 race shop.
“I have always enjoyed Dover, especially with these presentations that just occurred it does remind me of how much Dover and the state of Delaware has meant for me personally and for our team," Gordon said.
Gordon's trophy also featured a Vince Lombardi quote engraved on the base.
"The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual," Lombardi's quote reads.
