CONCORD, N.C. – Just keep dancing.
That's the message that Braylon Beam has told the world.
The six-year-old is currently fighting a tumor on his brain.
But one thing Beam loves to do is dance. That’s why he started his Just Keep Dancing campaign. He dances his way through chemotherapy treatments and posts his videos on YouTube.
Beam has made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and has even had the chance to be the honorary head coach of the Carolina Panthers.
And yesterday Beam made a trip to Charlotte Motor Speedway to be the honorary crew chief for Kasey Kahne and the No. 5 team.
Beam didn't hold anything back when he was asked what he was going to do as crew chief.
“Kasey Kahne is going to step up his game!” he smiled.
Beam also had one piece of advice for Kahne – go faster.
And one of his duties as honorary crew chief was showing the No. 5 pit crew how to dance.
Keith Rodden, crew chief for the No. 5 team, was the one that made yesterday happen for Beam.
Beam’s grandparents were Rodden's high school teachers and he wanted to do something to give back to a family that has given back to the community.
“When I saw his story I thought, 'Man, we have to something for Braylon. We have to do something for their family,'” Rodden said. “This kid has given back so much more to us than we could ever provide for him.”
“I am just so honored that he decided to come and hang out with us today,” Rodden smiled.
Beam will finish his weekend as the honorary starter for the Five Kahne 5K supporting the Kasey Kahne Foundation on Sunday morning.
