CONCORD, N.C. – This Thanksgiving, there is plenty for which to be thankful. And just as was the case last year, Kasey Kahne is thankful for the fans that support him on a daily basis.
That’s why he never hesitates to stop and sign autographs at the racetrack each week.
“I think the reason why I do that is because the fans can be really nice, they can be super cool and make you feel good,” Kahne explained.
The driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet SS knows from experience what something as quick as an autograph can mean to a fan – and it can leave a lasting impression.
“When I was young and I went up to a driver at our local dirt track and he was cool, he was suddenly my favorite driver,” he recalled. “And the guy who wasn’t cool was suddenly my least favorite driver, and I remember that clear as day.”
So Kahne has always made sure to pay it forward in his own career, taking time to interact with the fans that make his job so enjoyable.
“I certainly appreciate them,” the driver smiled.
Happy Thanksgiving!
