CONCORD, N.C. – The dazzling lights of the Las Vegas strip offer many distractions, but perhaps one of the most prominent is the exchange of chips for money around green-felted game tables.
However, in Las Vegas, gambling isn’t just reserved for casinos, rather, some gambling in “Sin City” involves tires, fuel, and split-second decisions.
As a few of the Hendrick Motorsports drivers and crew chiefs explain, there is a certain amount of gambling that happens on the track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
“I think Las Vegas, true to the nature of the city, you really have to be willing to take a gamble,” said Chase Knaus, crew chief of the No. 48 Kobalt Tools Chevrolet SS. “We don’t know exactly what we’re going to have until we get out there and start testing.”
