CONCORD, N.C. -- As a six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, Jimmie Johnson has accumulated years of racing insights.
With that in mind, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is launching a "Race Week" video series starring the driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet SS.
It kicks off this week with a discussion of Talladega Superspeedway and what goes into a race that requires cars to work together to draft their way to victory.
Throughout the series, Johnson will be joined by host Marty Smith to discuss interesting stories, recollections and anecdotes related to each race for the remainder of the 2016 season.
The first-hand stories from Johnson -- who has been a Blue Cross member since 2002 -- begin this week, including the craziest thing he's seen in the Talladega infield.
Going forward, you'll also hear the story of how he was discovered by Hendrick Motorsports and what Jeff Gordon said to him after embarking on his final full-time Sprint Cup Series season last year.
Each week through the season’s final race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, a new episode will debut. To ensure you don’t miss an episode, follow Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina on Twitter and Facebook, and Hendrick Motorsports on Twitter and Facebook.
Check out the first edition in the video above thanks to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, which has called North Carolina home since 1933.
