CONCORD, N.C. -- Chase Elliott will start the Sprint Showdown from the pole position.
And now that will happen on Saturday.
Inclement weather caused the Showdown at Charlotte Motor Speedway to be moved from Friday night to Saturday at 11 a.m.
Sprint Showdown practice was cancelled due to weather, as well, which left the starting grid to be determined by points. That gave Elliott the No. 1 spot.
The Showdown is divided into three segments, with the winner of each segment automatically advancing to the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, which is also scheduled for Saturday.

If Elliott advances to the All-Star Race, he will take part in a brand new format for that exhibition event as well. Read more about the changes here.
