CONCORD, N.C. -- Last season, Chase Elliott's performance behind the wheel of the No. 24 Chevrolet SS earned him Rookie of the Year honors.

Now, with the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series season on the horizon, Elliott is looking to build on that success.

"Just try to be contenders each week -- that's our main goal," he said.

One major benefit, Elliott noted, is the fact that he will continue to work with No. 24 team crew chief Alan Gustafson and many of the same teammates.

"Having a year together and going back for a second year with some consistency across the board, I think, is nothing but good," he said.
