CONCORD, N.C. – This season, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is stepping into the co-host role on his “Dale Jr. Download” podcast.
And in the pre-Daytona 500 edition, Earnhardt shared family memories, discussed how fun it was to join the FOX broadcast booth for The Clash and relayed his thoughts on the upcoming season.
“We were up in the booth, everybody if you tuned in on Sunday, you got to see us do some work,” Earnhardt said. “That was kind of fun. I’d never been in the booth that much to begin with, let alone during a rain delay. So, it was a good experience to kind of see what they go through.”
Now, he’s ready to jump back in the driver’s seat for what will be his first race since last July. However, when it comes to setting goals for the 2017 season, Earnhardt said he wants to take it slow.
“I get really bent out of shape when we don’t do well and I want to get better at that,” Earnhardt explained. “So trying not to set goals and setting yourself up for any kind of disappointment is something that I thought might be a good practice.”
