CONCORD, NC – This weekend, Jimmie Johnson clinched his seventh victory at Texas Motor Speedway.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the newly configured and repaved track, Johnson and the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS team battled through the field to earn their spot in Victory Lane.
No. 48 team crew chief Chad Knaus shared his thoughts on what the win means to the organization and how the team can improve moving forward.
“For us to be able to run up front and then get the trophy at the end, I think it bodes well for the company,” Knaus said. “The facts are we are a long way from where we want to be. We want to be able to go out there and lead every lap and get some stage wins to get bonus points.”
No. 48 team race engineer Cliff Daniels provided insight as to how a change in setup impacted the pit strategy that put Johnson in position to win.
