TALLADEGA, Ala. – Dale Earnhardt Jr. will lead his teammates to the green flag from the outside pole Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway.
“It would have been nice to get a pole,” Earnhardt said. “Let’s see if we can try to get another one later this year.”
Chase Elliott also made it to the final round of qualifying and will roll off the grid in eighth.
Kasey Kahne and Jimmie Johnson did not advance to the final round and will start 19th and 30th, respectively.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. won the pole.
Sunday's race is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on FOX, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
