LONG POND, Pa. – The first 50 laps are complete at Pocono Raceway and Chase Elliott is inside the top 10.
Elliott took the green flag in 13th and worked his way into the top 10 for a 10th-place Stage 1 finish. He picked up one bonus point for the result.
Jimmie Johnson rolled off the grid in 14th, picking up two positions for a 12th-place stage finish.
Kasey Kahne started the race in 12th and took the green-checkered flag at the end of Stage 1 in 14th.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. received a penalty for speeding on pit road during a green-flag stop on Lap 23. Earnhardt lost a lap in the process and spent the remainder of the stage battling to get back on the lead lap, finishing the segment 27th.
Kyle Busch won the stage.
Stage 2 will consist of another 50 laps before a final 60-lap segment.
