GMAC Chevy to Feature O.A.R. Paint Scheme

CONCORD, N.C. (Aug. 11, 2006) - Brian Vickers' No. 25 GMAC Chevrolet will feature one of his favorite bands when he takes the green flag for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 on Sept. 9. Vickers' Monte Carlo SS race car will be adorned with a unique paint scheme including the rock group O.A.R. and will be one of three Chevy musical themed paint schemes running under the lights at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway during the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 weekend. Vickers along with Riki Rachtman, the former host of MTV's "Headbangers Ball," unveiled the new design last week among hundreds of race fans during Chevy Day activities at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "I'm really excited about having O.A.R. on our No. 25 GMAC Chevy for the upcoming Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond," said Vickers, who will be participating in his third Chevy Rock & Roll 400. "The band is a favorite of mine, I've been to their concerts and met the guys. So, to actually have them on our race car is cool." O.A.R., which stands for "of a revolution," has become known for its rock-meets-reggae sound and its 2005 breakthrough album Stories of a Stranger which includes their recent hit single "Love and Memories." The group formed in 1996 and released their first independent record, The Wanderer, while still in high school. Today O.A.R. has sold over 1 million albums. The Chevy Rock & Roll 400 is a unique collaboration among Chevrolet, Richmond International Raceway and NASCAR to unite pop and rock musicians with elite drivers in NASCAR while providing fun experiences for race fans throughout the weekend. Further adding to the excitement, the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 is the final race before the Chase for the Championship and determines the top 10 drivers eligible for the 2006 NASCAR Nextel Cup championship title.
