HOMESTEAD, Fla. -- Chase Elliott got off to a quick start Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, leading his teammates to the green-checkered flag at the end of Stage 1.
He kept that momentum going in Stage 2, and with 160 laps in the books, Elliott remains inside the top 10.
He finished Stage 2 in ninth, once again leading his teammates to the green-checkered flag.
He'll look to keep it up for one more 107-lap segment to close out the race.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. was the next Hendrick Motorsports driver to cross the finish line at the end of Stage 2. Down one lap to the leaders, he finished 23rd with 107 laps to go in his final race behind the wheel of the No. 88 Axalta Chevrolet SS.
Jimmie Johnson, down two laps, finished Stage 2 in 31st.
Kasey Kahne's No. 5 Great Clips Chevrolet SS took some damage when the driver had nowhere to go as a competitor hit the wall ahead of him. Kahne headed to pit road for the No. 5 team to assess the damage and he was able to return to the track. He finished Stage 2 down six laps in 36th.
Kyle Larson once again won the stage.
